II First Wine Route, organized by Bodegas Tarón. It combines several purposes: on the one hand, it pays tribute to veteran winegrowers in the area (“Tarón territory”) by offering them the first wine and besides that it is dedicated to a charitable cause (this year to the Foundation El Sueño de Vicky for the research of childhood cancer).

I was really looking forward to this ride, because last year the wind made it very difficult; this year the weather was fine except for a short stretch of thick fog which, to be honest, was also a bit funny.

We were able to share the peloton with retired or active professionals such as Sheyla Gutiérrez from La Rioja, Ramontxu González Arrieta, David López, Igor Astarloa, Juanjo Cobo and even legends such as Joane Somarriba and Marino Lejarreta.

In short, a great morning of cycling and wine in the Tarón territory. A magnificent organization for a beautiful ride that I hope will be help for many years.
